THE REFUND POLICY PERIOD IS SEPARATE FROM THE LIFE TIME WARRANTY on all our cameras. A return covered by the warranty must also follow the explicit instructions further down this page. (The Logitech Alert System warranty is through Logitech)

AUDIO DETERRENT SYSTEMS/DIGITAL SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS; D.B.A.  SECURITYSYSTEMS.COM; ALARMSYSTEM.COM is 100% in compliance with PayPal and all credit card processors as we clearly and unequivocally spell out our RETURN POLICY in easy to understand language so there are no misunderstandings.  Each product we sell has a return policy link clearly posted on the page. Unlike other websites we do not hide it at the bottom or make it difficult to find. We are an honest and reputable company and we make it easily accessible to read if you choose to do so before buying.

Any questions, disagreements or issues concerning our return policy ARE QUICKLY RESOLVED by referring to this policy. Unlike most on-line vendors SecuritySystems.com provides a plethora of information, text, FAQ'S, pictures, videos and professional phone support to assist a buyer in deciding if the product(s) meets their needs or qualifies for the application they're looking for. As a result our returns average less than 1%.  

Despite all these efforts returns are typically from folks that failed to read or misunderstood the product description. I.e., I'd like to return the Safe Home Covert Camera as it does not record video in the dark. Had they taken the time to read the FAQ's they would've known this beforehand. Additionally there are always folks that simply decide they do not want to pursue a surveillance project and now want to return the purchase or unfortunately customers that use the product to successfully gather their evidence and then decide to send the unit back stating they “changed” their mind, much like somebody buying a big T.V to host a super bowl party and returning the purchase the following week.

Most other web based businesses have a strict no return policy on all-in-one dvr cameras or other specialty surveillance devices that accept SD cards because they are easily rendered inoperable by careless use or more specifically failure to properly insert the SD card.

We do accept returns but need to employ very strict guidelines so as not to receive back units or equipment that has been damaged, by user misuse (we provide very detailed instructions including tips and warnings to prevent the product from being rendered inoperable) or otherwise can be easily detected as a used or refurbished unit. We are not Wal-Mart and can not simply throw returns into a bin and absorb the loss. Nor are we the manufacturer and have replacement parts. We do NOT ship or sell used or refurbished products. It is for this reason we have a very strict non negotiable return policy

TO RECEIVE A REFUND ANY RETURNED MERCHANDISE IS ALSO SUBJECT TO STRICT CONDITIONS. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT MERCHANDISE THAT IS NOT IN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING. THE PACKAGING INSERTS IN THE BOXES CAN NOT BE DESTROYED OR MISSING. WE ARE NOT THE MANUFACTURER AND DO NOT STOCK THESE UNIQUE PACKAGING COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT SELL USED OR REFURBISHED PRODUCTS. IF YOU'VE THROWN AWAY THE PACKAGING WE WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR RETURN. IT MUST BE RETURNED WITH EVERY COMPONENT AND PACKAGED EXACTLY AS YOU RECEIVED IT.

FOR A REPLACEMENT: The above criteria does not apply as you will be sending back ONLY the unit, not the accessories or the original box. When we respond to your request for a R.A # for a replacement you will receive special instructions.

The 7 day refund period does not extend to any replacement product. It will be accepted back only if it is defective and replaced with a working unit.

TO RETURN A PRODUCT FOR A REFUND

The original purchaser must e-mail us within 7 days of receiving your product and request the R.A. # . Do NOT rely on leaving a phone message as during peak times some messages are lost. If you call you will be referred to this policy and be told to send us the requisite e-mail. All purchases are tracked with a delivery date. There are NO exceptions to this time period

PLEASE Use the e-mail you purchased with on-line or gave us over the phone. If possible compose your e-mail by replying back to the confirmation e-mail you received from us following your purchase.

Once we receive your e-mail we will then reply back and issue the R.A. # to accompany your return. RA numbers are only issued (to the original purchaser) upon receiving your e-mail with the requisite statement and information.

Once you receive your R.A. #  (Return Authorization #) Please adhere to the following instructions to send your merchandise back to us.

Alternatively print out the confirmation e-mail you received from Info@SecuritySystems.com following your purchase. We need to know if you purchased on-line or over the phone. If you purchased over the phone we will NEED the LAST FOUR DIGITS of the credit card you used. Do not forget the name of the person the product was shipped to (if other than you the purchaser)  as well as the e-mail used when purchasing. All of this will expedite your refund or replacement. Again, do not rely on us to decipher your return name and address scribbled on the return label.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

ON-LINE PURCHASES: If requesting a refund and you had purchased on-line through the PayPal processor your purchase price will be refunded back electronically minus a $15.00 testing and restocking fee. This fee applies per unit in the event the return involves more than one unit. Additionally your original S & H charges are NOT refundable as these expenses have been paid and cannot be recouped.

If the unit is defective there is NO restocking fee and your S & H charges will be refunded.

PHONE ORDERS: If your purchase was made over the phone with a credit card your refund will be subject to a 3.59 % processing fee. ( We have paid this to the credit card processing company and it is not returned to us )

This fee is based on your entire purchase amount which includes shipping.  This fee along with the restocking fee of 15.00 is deducted from the actual purchase price. Original S & H charges are NOT refundable as these expenses have been paid and cannot be recouped.

If the unit is defective there is NO processing fee, NO restocking fee and your S & H charges will be refunded.

IMPORTANT: Sorry, Any additional SD cards, Micro or standard that were purchased are FINAL SALES. There are NO refunds for ANY SD CARDS that may have been purchased for any unit. SD cards can be easily corrupted or damaged. They may perform flawlessly on your computer but still be corrupted. You may claim to have never touched or opened them but our policy is non negotiable. Regardless if you bought only one or a dozen there are NO refunds. The SD cards we sell are provided only for the convenience of our customers. We buy wholesale and sell them below what you can find them in most situations. You can easily resell them for face value if not at a profit if they are truly untouched.

In all return scenarios:
All Shipping charges are non refundable.
Naturally unlike your returned product these are services that can not be recouped.
UPS, FED EX or the USPS will not refund our shipping costs.

RETURNS ARE PAID BY THE CUSTOMER: The ONLY METHOD WE ACCEPT RETURNS IS BY THE U.S. Postal Service; DO NOT USE ANY OTHER SHIPPER! Choose First class or priority (up to you) Ask the clerk for DELIVERY CONFIRMATION (GREEN STICKER) There is a tracking number applied to this process to follow the package from the sender to the receiver. IMPORTANT: Many of our products require an SD card. Inserting the card incorrectly will damage the unit completely and VOID any warranty or return. Each one of these units has been tested in our shop to assure they are not defective and the SD card can be easily inserted correctly.

Additionally each unit included a note warning that incorrectly inserting the SD card will unequivocally render the unit defective.

If you insert the card incorrectly, force it in or otherwise damage the unit during this process this unit is NOW TOTALLY DEFECTIVE. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER SENDING IT BACK FOR A REFUND.

THIS IS WHY NEARLY EVERY VENDOR SELLING THESE TYPES OF UNITS ACCEPTS NO RETURNS.

A PRODUCT IS DETERMINED DEFECTIVE AFTER EXAMINATIOIN AND INSPECTION BY SECURITYSYSTEMS.COM, NOT THE CUSTOMER. FAILURE TO UNDERSTAND THE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS OR PROBLEMS WITH YOUR OWN COMPUTER CAN SOMETIMES BE THE CAUSE TO INSIST A PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE. As an on-line vendor we are not the manufacturer of this product and each unit is individually packaged in its own box with unique packaging material. We DO NOT stock boxes, packaging material, any parts or manuals. As such any return must be in like new condition, include all the parts, all the original packaging material and the included manuals. We can NOT accept any return that does not comply with these stipulations as we can not re-sell it. Our extremely low selling price allows us a minimum profit margin and therefore we can not absorb a return that does not meet our return criteria. Similar to any purchase do not tear open the box or discard the packaging material so if you are not satisfied with the product it can easily be repackaged and returned for a refund.
 

The box and the packaging material can not be torn, ripped or damaged in any way to indicate it as a returned item.  Manuals and warranty cards must be in un-used condition and unmarked.  To capsulate:  Your returned purchase must look exactly as it did when you received it. This is not a difficult task.  Opening the box, removing the camera, the pwr supply, the rca cable and reading the manual should not be any cause once everything is put back to flag it as a returned item.  Upon receiving your return we can 'refresh' the memory and send it to another customer.  The flash memory is meant to be erased over and over again. ( See examples below, how to properly return the Safe Home Covert Camera (SHCC1) unit.)
